I'm a bike mechanic, so I routinely work with filthy, caustic substances that get on my hands and stay there. For a while, I used GOJO, which hovered around an 80% crud removal factor. Smelled good, though. Then one day I bought a tub of this fabulous product. One use was all it took...henceforth I will never use anything but Phil Wood Hand Cleaner!
Don't expect an ultra-smooth and fragrant hand lotion. The cleaner is reminiscent of partially-digested-then-regurgitated wood chips in a medium of crisco and chain lube, and the smell, while not particularly bad, doesn't make your mouth water. But a small handful of it, roughly lathered for several seconds, will vacuum up the layers of filth like nobody's business. A quick rinse will leave your hands cleaner than when you were in the womb. This product is, in a word, uncanny. I don't know how it works so well and I don't care to know. All I know is that you'll never catch me without a tub of it in arm's reach.
