We have been weighing bicycles for 30 years with crude systems and inacurrate results. Which brings us to the question, why didn't anyone produce this scale sooner? The scale is as simple as it is accurate. You can hang it with the strap at the top or clamp it into your bicycle stand. The bicycle hangs off a rubber coated hook that protects the bicycle while preventing it from sliding around. Running off 4 (AAA) batteries, our scale has been going strong for over a year without a battery change. The scale features an Auto Shut-Off feature helps to conserve battery consumption.
The scale displays results on an LCD screen in either Kg or Lbs, and you can toggle between the two without reseting. With a weight limit of 55lbs and a weight minimum of 50grams you can accomodate everyone from the DH and Freeride crowd with their overweight steads to the weight weinies and their drilled out cranks. We also see it being a valuable tool for a touring cyclist wanting to balance their load... The possibilities are endless.
With a 1-year warranty you have no reason to worry. If there is a mechanical defect it will most likely show up immediately and with the rugged shock-resistant construction the scale is designed to take the abuse of a busy workshop. It should be noted that Bikeman has sold over 100 scales and never had a return or complaint.
We don't know why nobody thought of this before but this is one tool we won't ever live without.
