Bikeman site upgrades continue!

Hey Folks, Bikeman here to let you know about some very cool new functionality I recently added to my website.    One of the coolest things my programers have come up with is the ability to put additional product images on the my product detail pages.   Now not every product will have extra images available but I'll make sure we work to get images in place where they can help you the most.   The screen shot below shows an expample of a product with extra images.    When you click on the thumbnail images below the main image a popup / detail view will appear.     Cool Huh...

As I write this it is around 22 degrees outside and quite windy. Granted it is night time, but we aren't even into December yet mind you. Looking back we had a pretty decent year out on the trails up here in Maine. There were a couple wet stretches that sogged up the ledge and clay topography that is the norm for the area, but all in all there was some good riding this summer.

Coming soon to the trails near Bikeman HQ

New Inexpensive Shipping Options...

Bikeman 19 Nov, 2008

You have asked and my staff and I have listened.   Bikeman.com realizes that to charge a shipping rate of $8.00 for a $10.00 item is a deterant to many shoppers.   Maybe you just need a set of tire-levers or a Mavic UST valve core....   For these types of items we have implemented two tiers of USPS shipping to accomodate smaller orders.

If you product weighs less than 13 ounces (including packaging) and is valued at under $52.00, you order will qualify for USPS First Class Mail.   You can still ship it UPS Ground if you like, especially if you want to track the package right to your door, but for many items USPS First Class is a great inexpensive option.

Packages over 13 ounces and under 2 lbs. (and under $52.00) will qualify for USPS Parcel Post shipping.  Parcel post is close in price to UPS Ground but may be preferable in some areas.   We still recommend UPS shipping if the shipping is time sensative as the tracking feature can be invaluable.

Orders over $52.00 and/or over 2 lbs. in shipping weight will only show the UPS rates in both our rate calculator and shopping cart checkout pages.

Please comment if you have any ideas on shipping terms/rates that will help me server you better.
