The 1.75 Kwick is an excellent bargain for the 'cross-towner' mtb'er. It's super-low profile center wedge-shaped treadblocks and knarled texture offer negligible rolling resistance on the asphalt allowing for high speed. On hard-pack trails the speed can be kept as well; the side and intermediate blocks on the tread are quite well-shaped and placed as well, which adds to stability while cornering on the local 'dirt bikepath'. However, it's meager width does not generate a large enough footprint for true 'trail blasting' as it will wash out easily.
Actually, the width and uber-low weight is very good for getting through snow and puddles quickly, adding to it's favorability, in my opinion, as a great 'leave-it-on' tire for the commuter/6pm, fenders-on, rock hopper. 4 stars for what it does well
