The west coast lived up to it's laid back demeanor when a full five weeks before the start of an off season event our raggy-ass group hemmmed and hawwed and missed the registration. As fate would have it, my wife and I were in Tucson enjoying the "gem show" the weekend before the event, and I saved a morning to visit the race site. Now mind you ten miles down a dirt road being passed by pick-up trucks carrying all sorts of dirt riding bikes really made me feel like a tourist.

Anyway the site is remote and beautiful. I've just checked the results and it's a screamer, twenty-one and twenty-two laps were winning their catagories. I did notice that Tinker also won his. I would recommend anyone interested in next years event plan oh, so, carefully. You can expect rain or sun, and about three thousand rugged cyclist enjoying.
