The Return of ControlTech!
"Keep the faith" was the cry in February of last year when we received our last shipment of Control Tech skewers.  Most wrote them off, again, and figured we had seen the last of the bolt-on Ti skewers...  Well hold onto your saddle because ControlTech is back.   With a new model and a slight redesign on the traditional skewers the ContolTech skewers look better than ever.

Standard Ti Bolt-Ons

The one complaint we had on the last batch of skewers was that the "Mountain" skewer was more like a slightly oversized road skewer.  It wasn't quite long enough for 135 and just a bit to long for a road bike.  This rendered the skewer almost useless for anyone not riding a steel hardtail from 1993.  So when the ControlTech order arrived today the first thing we did was grab a mountain frame with the thickest dropouts we could find, happened to be a Turner frame with very thick aluminum drops.  First test was a sucess.  The new skewers are long plenty long enough for the Turner and therefore any other mountain bike frame.

The standard Ti skewers have remained virtually unchanged through the years.  Ti rods, aluminum ends and a couple of springs.  Pretty simple.   For 2007 ControlTech is also offering a new version of the bolt-on with ti rods, scandium ends and no springs.  The Race SL skewers are available in mountain and road lengths and weigh a scant 26grams.  Just like the ones made by now defunct M2 Racer, the Race SL skewers have wrench flats on the ends and even come with a wrench to tighten them down.

ControlTech has also brought back their Ti / Carbon skewers and a few other parts that we will offer soon.  The Bolt-On skewers are instock now!  Welcome back ControlTech!
