Well this is a new venue for me so I really did not know what to expect. The weather was cold and raining on and off so I was not feeling super motivated to even go but when I arrived I was surprised to see about 300 people ready to race in the wet muddy conditions.

The start was very quick on the pavement going up hill. After about a half mile we turned into the woods for some really fast fun wide dirt paths for about 2 miles after which we finally turned into the singletrack. The course ended up being more of a point to point course rather than a multiple lap course. I had a lot of fun on this course. It was a good combo of climbing and just plain old fast singletrack. I was racing with a few guys the whole way on this course so it made it fun. I found myself thinking about how great this course would be if it were dry.

Overall it was a good course and I would really like to ride it dry!

Later,

Yale
