Kennebunkport Time Trial Place: Kennebunkport, Maine Event: Seacoast Time Trial Time: 8:00am May, 5 2007 Distance: 13 miles
This is the first time that I have done this event. I have but one word to describe this TT course, "flat". This course is a carpenters dream, flat as a board and ready to be hammered. This course is fast and I used the big chain ring all the way. I live in Woolwich, Maine and around here there are alot of rollers with some good hills here and there. So racing on this course was quite fun for me. Its all righthand turns with good roads. The race was well put on with police and road marshalls at every corner marking the way.
One other reason to do this race, is for the fund raising. The money raised by the participants goes to a bike shop for kids. They rebuild bikes that they can use. The first bike that they rebuild does not go to them, it is given to someone else instead. The second bike they rebuild is for themselves. So it is a good learning experience for them. The monies raised go to parts, tools, tubes, tires, bills and such. I think that this is a worthy cause and the fee is well justified.
