Race Reports
Place: Cape Able Bike Shop Kennebunkport, Maine
Event: The Memorial Day Classic
Time: Monday May 28, 2007 4:00PM
Distance: 28miles

This race is course is very flat with a few what I call "speed bumps", its very fast race course. The course is shaped like a tootsie pop. The start/finish line is at the bottom of the stick. So you ride out 2 miles make a lefthand turn and make 6 4 mile laps. Then on the last lap you make a lefthand turn and race to the bottom of the lollipop stick. This is the finish line.

This race is not yet sanctioned by the USCF yet. So there are 2 groups of riders the "A" and the "B" group. The A group is the more exprienced riders with the B group not so experienced. The A group is usually quite fast. This road course is open to traffic and the you should be aware of that when racing. Be cautious of the yellow line and on coming traffic. This year there was a pace car in the front which is much better and safer in this riders opinion. Also the surrounding neighborhood knows what happening they some come out on their front door yards to see the race.
