Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro Winter Tire:
 | | Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro | Here in Maine winter riding has always been a fact of life. You have to be comfortable with the fact that the little patch of rubber holding you upright is at some point only going to have glare ice to grip on to. From my experience the ice wins in that scenario, unless you have a set of these carbide clad bad boys on your ride. From packed snow trails to icy roads, the Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro tires will give you tenacious grip in the iciest conditions.
New for the winter of 07, the Scwalbe Ice Spiker Pro holds 361 carbide studs in a light-weight foldable bead tire. The sharp, ultra-durable carbide studs are encased in an aluminum housing to keep the weight down to a reasonable amount. Schwalbe lists them at 695 grams, they were actually slightly lighter on my scale. Great for mountain biking, commuting, or whenever you want the most grip available in the slipperiest conditions.
