Welcome to the new and improved home of Bikeman. Bikeman has jacked up the site thrown a new power-plant under the hood. All done in an effort to provide not only the best product selection on the web, but also the best original content as well. The section names have not changed a bit. You can still find funky old parts in the Attic and plenty of original reading material in the Bathroom. To make this transition as seemless as possible we have provide a synopsis of content you will find within each section of the site.
A quick note before we begin, you will find that the content is now searchable using the "Content Search" box in the left column. Now on to the section descriptions.
The Bathroom has always been a place to find new and unique reading material from the cycling world. You won't find results from the Tour de France or the Spring Classics. You will find original articles, interviews, news from Bikeman, a journal from local hero Adam Craig, and a few surprises to come in the coming months. The Bathroom is all about fun, informative content that will keep you coming back for more.
Team Bikeman is one of the largest and fastest growing "grass roots" teams in the country. With riders from all corners of the USA and beyond Team Bikeman will continue our podium seige during the 06 season. In the Team section you will find Race Reports and Rider Profiles. A new section for 2006 is "Following Freye". Following Freye takes and indepth look at one rider trying his best to make it in the pro ranks. Andrew Freye, Team Bikeman - Salsa Cycles, will be posting a weekly journal on his season as a pro mountain biker.
Hanging in the basement are frames and custom built bikes waiting to be picked up. On-Line the Cellar is where you can view Bikeman's latest Custom Builds or read reviews on the latest frames we offer. There are lots of framebuilders out there and most of them make an excellent product. The hardest thing is deciding which one to choose. It seems like the more you read, the more confusing it gets. Advertising dollars don't influence our opinions, and if we're not familiar with a frame you're interested in, we won't pretend we are.
Ever wonder what Bikeman thinks of the new suspension and brake technology? Well Bikeman has generously offered to rate and review many of these new fangled gizmos we read about. The Featured Product Tests are obtained through direct tests by Bikeman and his crew of testers. The Saturday Night Movie is a weekly review of the latest in cycling related viewing. We may even through in a few Oldies but Goodies as well. The best part about Partsroom is that you're product reviews are posted. If you would like add a product review please find the product you would like to review in our on-line store and complete the review form. This is your page, Enjoy.
Bikeman's repair shop is often refered to as The Pit. Not because it is a mess, although at times it can be caotic, but because it is sunken down below the rest of the store and usually hides some very cool projects. On this page we will bring you a glimpse into BIKEMAN's latest tinkerings and give you some ideas for your bike. You will find feature Tech Articles on Bikeman's latest projects, Tool reviews / comparisons, Tricks of the Trade, and our weekly Name that Tool Contest.
The Attic is one of the most interesting and chaotic rooms in the shop. The boss never throws anything away, it just magically vanishes and ends up in the attic. We have been collecting stuff this way for almost 30 years so you never know what you might find. Old School mountain bike parts is our specialty but we have a pile of classic bikes and some vintage road stuff that will make an appearance shortly. The Attic is also popular for the weekly Attic What IZIT contest. |
