Bonelli Park
So Cal State Cross-Country & Super D Series

It is really hard to believe that cross is over and so is winter. The first in an eight race series sponsored by Team Big Bear brought us to Bonelli Park in San Dimas, California. I last reported on March 29, 2007 on the now familiar 9 mile diverse loop.They claim a fast and rolling fire road section to start things off. And i'll agree on the middle flat ' kind' of single track. Then the stream crossing, jungle land side show and airport. The technical junk climb and new this year an additional climb up to the start of the Super D.

Well the super D was a real treat for someone who decided to just enjoy a ride in the park this Sunday on a rigid. So down we went only to remember the endless fireroad climb. So in hindsight this last Sunday was truly a beautiful day in the park. With a snowcapped peak in the distance, the promise of additional wild flowers to come and a very intense Team Competition starting to show in socal, the inaugural event has started the vital juices flowing.
