Team Big Bear sponsored the number three (3) race in the So Cal State Cross-Country Series. A few years ago the course started in the back yard of a certain Mr. Firestone. It was quite a back-yard. The race was described as a "power course". While I have limited power I really enjoyed the course.
It seems Mr. Firestone has since sold his holding in this property so the start area is now over the hill yonder. The new course is now described as a suffer-fest. I failed to consider that the central coast had that much vertical.
Oh, did I mention that start time was 8 a.m. That really was fine leaving the house about 4 a.m. But approaching 100 degrees, not! Needless to say pictures were not on my mind. The rolling hills, oak tree studded, real nice.
