The CollectiveThe best mountain bike film of 2004. The film reminds us what it means to feel freedom on two wheels. Cinematographers Jamie Houssian and Darcy Wittenburg produced a mountain bike epic that spans the divide between the XC and gravity set and turns us all into Free Riders.

The CollectiveThe Collective takes a new look at Free Riding, with artistic camera angles, a perfect blend of music and commentary, with footage that every mountain biker can relate to. Not just a Freeride film full of cliff drops and crashes, The Collective puts you on the single track, over the North Shore bridges, and trialsin through the urban jungle with some of the sports most talented riders. Darren Berrecloth, Geoff Gulevich, Matt Hunter, Tyler Klassen, Ryan Leech, Jordie Lunn, Tyler Morland, Steve Romaniuk, Andrew Shandro, Wade Simmons, Thomas Vanderham, and Dave Watson give you a look at their definition of mountain biking.

Shot of 16mm film with camera angles that seemingly put the camera operators in more danger than the riders (they show you how several of the shots where filmed). The footage that they produced was nothing short of amaizing. The film gets 4 Bikeman's and the only thing keeping it from a perfect 5 Bikeman rating was the fact that this is the first Saturday Night Movie Review and we don't want to leave some room for the perfect film. Come take a look at the soul of mountain biking.
