Oh where does the time go? It seems like yesterday I was writing to everyone with a February update. Where did the month of March go? I guess when you have a lot going on time seems to fly by and before you know it another month has passed.

With the first big race at the beginning of May it was time to start picking up the intensity on the bike. However, the hours spent on the bike have yet to drop. It seems like my coach enjoys putting me through lots of pain with some crazy work outs. But hey, how else am I suppose to get faster? Classes and school are going well. The USM women's basketball team made it to the championship game which was only a couple hour drive away in Springfield, MA. A couple of my friends and I piled in a car and headed over to Springfield to go support our school. Everyone from USM was screaming and cheering so loud for so long that most of us lost our voice or came darn close to losing it. The girls ended up losing in a tough game against Hope College from Michigan. Despite losing it was still a good time to put the bike away for a day and go be a "regular" college student.

I am happy to say that Time pedals will be supplying me with mountain pedals for the 2006 year. Also Lake Cycling shoes will be providing me with shoes for the 2006 year as well. I am very happy to be representing both companies and look forward to working with them along with all my other sponsors in 2006.

Spring break - USM has weird schedule where we have a week off in February and then another week off from school at the end of March. I don't know of any other school that does this, but I kind of like it. With two separate weeks off from school it really breaks up the semester. This year for my spring break I flew out to San Diego, CA To visit my older brother. It hasn't been all that warm here with average temps around 65. If you can manage to get outside of the city the riding is amazing! I've been driving out to El Cajon which is a couple miles east of SD and doing some great riding in the mountains and valleys. It is a lot different riding in the south next to the border. There are always helicopter and airplanes flying low and border patrol trucks driving around looking for illegal immigrants. You don't see that in Maine! I did manage to go out on a group ride one morning and rode with some fast roadies from hi-techbikes.com. Everyone was very friendly and great to ride with. We raced up this 2,000 vertical foot climb that was a couple miles long. I was able to drop everyone right from the start and held a decent lead up the climb. It felt good knowing that I had that type of fitness so early in the year. Besides the riding I've been enjoying the weather and my time here in San Diego. I fly back to Maine on the 4th where I will start up with my classes again on the 5th. I can already tell April is going to be a very busy month with school. I just have to make it through 5 more weeks and the semester will be over!
