Since the last one proved to be to tough we have given you an easy one here. Should be straight forward. We are looking for the name of the part (Manufacturer & Product Name), and what it was used for. Bonus point for intimate knowledge of the pros and cons with this item or a picture of your bike with this item on it.

The verdict is in and a winner has been selected. Bikeman received a fair number of responses on this one but Cecil Lee from Vancouver BC had the best response. Cecil gave us all the pertinent information plus shared with us his personal experience with the lever, and some bonus points for riding a Ritchey. Here is his answer.
"This was a part i believe was call Dr Dew brake lever extensions. they were intended to bolt onto the end of a brake lever[old school long length levers] and allow braking while riding on bar ends. i had a set mounted to older long levered xt brake levers[cantilever compatible]. They were useful but i removed to simplify my bike, at the time a Ritchey Descent." |
