Breaking News! NEMBA Fest scheduled for Sunday, June 11th at Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, MA had been cancelled due to the weather. Apparently there is 8" of standing water at the venue and it just cannot support the parking, foot and bicycle traffic without severe destruction. Word is that it will hopefully be rescheduled, we will pass on any new info we get. Sorry about the inconvenience especially for anyone that has made travel plans but obviously nothing can be done about the weather. Especially with the inordinate amount of rain New England has received in the last month. Despite the inconvenience it is good land stewardship on the part of NEMBA to preserve the condition of the venue and the trails for future use.
From the official NEMBA website:
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LARGE AMOUNTS OF RAIN
We regret to announce that NEMBAfest has been cancelled. With more than 8" of rain, a flooded venue and overflowing and saturated trails, we cannot in good conscious hold the event. We hope to reschedule the festival in the fall. I apologize for any inconvenience, and we ask you for your understanding. NEMBA cares deeply about responsible trail use, and this has guided our decision to cancel.
