I bought this tire to deal with the hard core new-england cross country terrain: roots, rocks, and plenty of mud. Semi-slicks need not apply for these conditions, unless you like running. This tire handles it all without slipping: higher-speed rock-strewn descents to slick, steep climbs. In the woods I keep them at probably around 45 psi - less and I worry about pinch flats or rolling the bead off the rim. I pump them up to 55 for training on the road. I've gotten a season of moderate racing and training out of the pair. The back will go one more season, the front two. The only downside is the steep price tag.
