Remember the Tioga Disc Drive rear wheel... That is where this little guy came into use. It was next to impossible to get a pump head on the Presta Valve inside the Disc Drive wheel. To solve this problem Tiogo cut a small circular hole just above the valve that ou would snake the extender into. This allowed for easy access outside of the wheel for your pump. Nobody came up with the exact answer but I am giving a prize to Paul Jacobson who came up with the usage of the item but just didn't tie it into the Tioga Wheel.
WINNER - Paul Jacobson: "Those pesky presta valves! You have to jamb the pump head over the valve stem, sometimes hold the pump on by wrapping your fingers over the tire, and when you work the pump it can rock the darn stem against the rim hole, then pulling the da&*^* pump head off can be a chore, so you pound on the pump to knock it off!! This little gadget screws over the stem, and lets the proper and sophisticated cyclist use a Shrader pump (and who doesn't own a presta pump for some reason, or forgot it in haste to hit the road), all while keeping clean hands free of those nasty tires. The washer gives the cyclist some purchase to push the pump head down over the shrader adapter. Cute, huh? Handy in a pinch, though, when there are no presta pumps to be had."
