 | | 2007 Shimano XTR FD-M970 Top-Swing Front Derailleur | Day ten of the 2007 XTR component review and pricing preview. Probablly the most unsung and underated component in an entire group is the front derailleur. Not a very glamorous part because there doesn't seem to be much to it but when it doesn't work you know it. Shimano widened the pivots to stiffen the new XTR front derailleur and of course the gigantic "X" is included. ETA is early October so we are keeping an eye out and will let you know as soon as we have them.
FD-M970: Top-Swing Front Derailleur
A fresh front derailleur design compliments the new crankset and continues to provide the most confident front shifting available.
• Wide pivots The extra wide pivots of the M970 create a rigid structure that ensures assertive shifting as well as longer pivot life
• Multi-clamp and variable cable routing for maximum versatility Using a multi-clamp design as well as an adaptable top or bottom cable pull mount create a once size fits all front derailleur
• Laser cut XTR logo
