New for 2007, the Paddy Wagon is Kona's offering to the world of fixed gears.  Destined to be a classic, the first release of the Paddy Wagon framesets come with a beautiful Kona CroMo fork.   (word is that the next batch of frames will have a standard P2 unicrown fork)  There is always a buzz around the shop when a new batch of Kona frames is dropped at the front door and the arrival of the Paddy Wagon was met with a mixture of excitement and curiosity.

Initail impressions where all positive.  Great color, nice detail work, and where can I get one of those forks where the first reactions of most here at Bikeman.  Made from Dedacciai COM 12.5 butted cromoly the frame is equipped with horizontal drops, fender eyelets, and front and rear brake mounts (if you choose to use them).  The frame is lighter than expected while the same can not be said of the cool looking fork.  As much as everyone likes the fork it is a bit on the hefty side.  (Exact weights to come)

Kona's first track / messenger bike was designed by Kona veteran Paddy White.  Pat (Paddy) has been with Kona for over a decade. He used to be our New England sales rep in the mid nineties and is now a full time product development guru.  The Paddy Wagon is a perfect mix of form and function with a bit of the Kona edge thrown in.  At home on the busy city streets or on the high bank of your local velodrome, the Paddy Wagon is a bargain you may not be able to pass up.

If you have ever wanted a fixed gear or single-speed road bike but didn't want to shell out top dollar for an Italian work of art, the Paddy Wagon maybe just what you have been waiting for.  Complete Geometry below.
