The highly anticipated Avid Juicy Ultimate is now available. Building on the success of the popular Juicy 7 platform Avid has released the Juicy Ultimate. No expense was spared to make these some of the lightest hydraulic disc brakes around. They feature a low profile magnesium lever body with carbon lever blade; titanium mounting bolts, aluminum banjo, titanium banjo bolt; indexed lever reach adjustment (1mm of lever tip travel per click of adjuster). The pads are Avid's new organic compound. Because of the lightweight materials they are recommended for XC or Marathon type riding only.
There are 160mm front, 160mm rear, 185mm front, and 185mm rear versions. There is also a 140mm rear version. All are 6 bolt only. They are light on the gram scale coming in at 172g but not so light on the pocketbook with an MSRP of $280 per wheel.
