The race was held on the same private property as MAC #6. I was amazed the land owner allowed it as we really tore up the place on Saturday. Anyhow, the course was pretty much exactly as the previous day except in reverse. They took out a really long stretch that was only for running and not much fun and the steep and deep mud pit. Other than that the only changes were shifts of the track to the left or right. It was a bit colder than yesterday and I thought the mud would be hardened up and maybe a bit tacky. No the case. It was actually worse. There were 51 B starters.

A lot of riders chose to run the start. I found a nice line close to the tape and went with it, gaining about ten spots. From there it was just toughing out the mud and trying to remember why I used to enjoy running. This is my second year racing cross and the first time I was really wishing for a pit bike. With about two laps to go I was fighting to keep a pace and not get passed as my whole bike was working against me (weight, brakes, drivetrain). Usually I make up some ground at the end of a race. Here I was barely able to hold steady. Two riders (with clean bikes) passed me during my last half lap. I was able to ride to the finish and ended up 24th.
