Having been a dedicated fan of single front ring use for some time, I’ve always been keen to modify my current bike to a suitable system. I started riding trails just using my middle ring as I thought it would be good for my fitness and found that it also improved my riding, from both a technical and simple enjoyment perspective. |

Building wheels is a bit like a magic trick. You take a few ounces of metal parts, and assemble them into a wheel strong enough to bash down mountains, or tour a thousand miles. It's a trick that isn't too hard to master, though. If you have patience and sense of symmetry, you should have good luck. |

Re-Gluing Tubular Cyclocross Tires OR "Tape and Glue Redux - The Belgian Method Re-visited"
A lot of people must have taken the plunge into the tubular side of the pool since I first published my article on gluing cyclocross tubulars a while back becuase I have started to get a lot of questions on how to glue up a fresh set of tires on previously glued wheels. The good news is that it is actually pretty easy and despite what intuition may tell you a previously glued wheel will probablly end up with a stronger bond in the end. |

 | | The Ultimate Single Ring Guide? I think so. | If you have already read Wally's article on Single Ring Setup you know we are fans of the single front ring here at Bikeman. I would go so far as to say that I love it myself. I have used a single front ring on both my mountain bike and cyclocross bike for several years now. Not once since I made the changeover, in either racing or just riding, have I thought that I needed another front chainring. I prefer it all the way around. It is light, simple, economical and reliable. Reliable that is if you have a good way to keep the chain on. |
