Domestic Shipping Terms - Map

You will find the following messages on product pages in the stock status tab. Please read these carefully as it will allow you to estimate your shipping and arrival times. We do not partial ship orders, the delivery time of your order is determined by the item on your order with the longest lead time. In order to ship products as quickly as possible and maintain reasonable shipping costs we reserve the right to ship your order from our headquarters in Maine or our secondary shipping facility in Wisconsin.  If your order is time sensitive we encourage you to contact us for up to the minute product availability and ship times to verify that we can accommodate your needs. Credit cards are not charged until the order is scheduled for shipment.

Stock Status "Usually Ships in 2-3 Days"
In order to offer the most complete product selection and have the best prices on the web, Bikeman cuts costs by utilizing "revolving" or "just-in-time" inventory. This means that we do not physically stock all 30,000 SKU’s on our store here at Bikeman Headquarters. We have the ability however to get products here rapidly and ship them out to you. Many of the items in Bikeman’s On-Line Store are available for shipment within 2 business days for orders placed before 3pm EST, Monday through Friday or within 3 business days for orders placed after 3pm EST, Monday through Friday. Please note, this is not the shipping time to you, this is the time it takes your order to leave our shipping department. The transit time for the shipping method you choose at checkout begins after this time. For example, if you place an order on Friday after 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, your order will usually ship on Wednesday of the following week. The transit time for your shipping method would then begin on Wednesday.  If we can fulfill your order from stock here at Bikeman Headquarters it will ship sooner.  Due the rapid changes in revolving inventory we are occasionally unable to ship items with this stock status within 3 days. If this is the case Bikeman will contact you via e-mail. You can also check the status of your order 24/7 using our Order Status Manager. If your order is time sensitive we encourage you to contact us for up to the minute product availability and ship times to verify that we can accommodate your needs.


Stock Status "Usually Ships in 5-7 Days"
In order to offer some of the most unique and popular cycling items available we occasionally have to use secondary distributors or even go direct to the manufacturer. As a result these items are unfortunately not always available to ship within our normal shipping time frames. We can however typically have these items available to ship within 5-7 business days after receipt of your order. 

We also fully assemble and adjust complete bikes before shipping.  Bikes are then partially disassembled and repacked in the original shipping box with all the original packaging.  Upon receipt of the bike you have to be capable of installing the wheels, seat post and stem/handlebar before riding.  Complete bikes are usually available for shipment within 5-7 days business days. 

Please note, this is not the shipping time to you, this is the time it takes your order to leave our shipping department. Stock Status: "Available Soon"

Available Soon, well this means that the item will be available soon. The item is either brand new and has not become available yet or is temporarily out of stock at both Bikeman Headquarters and our suppliers. Call or email for an expected availability date.  You can also choose to receive an email when an out of stock item comes in stock by clicking on the "Product Watch" link on the product page.

Stock Status: "Available In Store Only"
Some manufacturers prohibit the sale of their products on the internet. These products are available for pick up in our retail store only. You may add these products to your cart and checkout by selecting "In Store Pick-Up" as the shipping method. You can then contact us to arrange pick up. These products are still subject to our "revolving" or "just-in-time" inventory so they may not be available for immediate pick up.  If your order is time sensitive we encourage you to contact us for up to the minute product availability to verify that we can accomodate your needs.

Stock Satus: "Contact for Availability"
Some items have special circumstances that prevent us from providing lead times and calculating shipping through our online store.  Typically these are speciality, large or heavy items that ship to us directly from the manufacturer and sometimes can only be shipped via truck freight or picked up in store.  You can add these items to your cart and checkout but no shipping cost will be available at that time.  ’Cost to be Determined’ and ’In Store Pick-Up’ will be your only shipping options at checkout.  You will need to contact us for a shipping estimate and lead time.  We do not ship these items internationally. 

Shipping Options

Bikeman’s preferred domestic shipping method is the Big Brown Truck, UPS. The most economical UPS shipping method is UPS ground.  We also offer UPS 3 Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air if your order is time sensitive.  Estimated shipping times are based on business days, Monday through Friday. So if your order is scheduled to ship on a Friday with a shipping time of 5 days it should arrive Friday the following week.  Holidays also do not count as business days.  Refer to UPS.com for current shipping holidays and adjust the shipping time accordingly.  You will receive an email with a UPS tracking number after your order ships to track the progress of your shipment.  UPS does not deliver to post office boxes, you must provide a physical address to ship.

USPS Shipping
Bikeman also offers USPS shipping via First Class Mail or Priority Mail domestically for small orders as an economical shipping option if your order is not time sensitive. We offer First Class Mail for orders up to $50 and under 2 lbs. We offer Priority Mail for orders up to $100 and under 4 lbs. USPS shipments are not traceable and there is no guaranteed shipping time-table. First Class Mail shipments can take 7-14 business days or more to arrive after leaving Bikeman.com. Priority Mail may arrive in 2-3 days after leaving Bikeman.com but that shipping time is NOT guaranteed. If your order is over these limits your only shipping option will be UPS.

USPS can trace both Priority and Express shipments, but cannot trace a First Class Mail shipment. They will also offer no refunds or reimbursement for lost items. Although it is rare, lost packages do happen occasionally. Please use First Class ONLY if you accept the fact that there will be no refunds or tracing of a package, once it is accepted by the postal service.

First Class is the cheapest shipping option, and a great value for small items that are inexpensive and/or not time sensitive. There is also no set delivery time, especially for foreign shipments. We have seen packages take as long as 2 months in certain extreme cases. Shipments to Spain, Greece, Russia, and South America in particular, seem to take a long time.  

All items purchased from Bikeman.com and shipped USPS are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the USPS.  Bikeman.com is not responsible or liable for any damage or loss arising from shipment via USPS.  Only choose USPS for your shipping method if you are willing to accept this risk of loss.

PLEASE NOTE that estimated delivery times for you reference ONLY. We have had instances where shipments have taken much longer than the USPS indicates on their website.  We make no assertion nor take any responsibililty on the delivery time via USPS. As stated in the shipping contract above, we are released of any liability, including but not limited to arrival time, once we deliver your package to the USPS.

Bikeman.com also ships internationally and to military APO/FPO addresses.  Please refer to our International Orders page for more information.

Hazardous Materials
Products designated ORMD are deemed hazardous by UPS and USPS and are prohibited from being shipped any method that may travel by air. If any of these items are in your basket your only shippng option will be UPS Ground. If we don’t offer UPS Ground to your destination there will be no shipping method available. Remove any ORMD products from your cart to view available shipping methods to your destination.
