I recently purchased a WTB Vigo Pro saddle to replace a Selle San Marco Ponza Power saddle. The Ponza hurt my tail bones. Fortunately my LBS was participating with WTB, in regards to their test saddle program. The test saddle program involves gaudy yellow saddles that say test saddle on them, that you can try free of charge..
I initially thought the Laser V was a good option but the bike shop owner encouraged me to try the Vigo. He mounted it on the my bike and said see you in a couple of days. The weather has been bad and I wasn't able to get out on the bike until a few days later. Initially I felt indifferent about the ride. But about after fifteen miles I suddenly realized I wasn't feeling any discomfort. I was really comfortable.
The saddle is not as light as the Ponza and may compromise a little energy transfer, but after fifty miles I was sold. I am scheduled to do RAGBRAI for the first time in July and I wanted to make sure that I was able to enjoy the ride and not worry about seat discomfort. This saddle really has brightened my outlook in that regard and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who rides more than twenty miles at a time.
