The 2006 season opener at the Central Park Trails in Schenectady, New York sponsored by Plaine and Son Bike shop was a blast. The 22 degree temperature at race onset was quickly eliminated with the quickness of the race's pace. The race atmosphere was all about having fun and trying to keep warm. Breaking the racers into Open and Novice classes I finished 2nd in the Male Open group. With a few mechanical issues caused by sticks becoming jammed in the rear wheel and also around the cassette, it was still a great way to check the legs and start a great season..
