November 19 and 20, 2016 CXLA UCI. One time per season the big guns and officials come to town. A new venue for our out of town guests, Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. Just east of Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley is a true melting pot, you can find the best dim sum, and chrome dipping plants on earth. The course was flat, a county approved fly-over provided a rare treat, as well as imported sand, approximately five tons. The Saturday event was a bit over specifications, so Sunday shrank just a bit. Back to back days are troublesome for me, so a single race per day prevailed. The good news both day winners were one in the same. Katerina Nash and Tobin Ortenblad, two for two. A great weekend for racing, that included sprinkles on Sunday.
