I am pretty sure I missed last year, but, Anza is a perennial favorite. I have waxed on the history, the Santa Ana River, but it is the city parks elevation that makes it so enjoyable. That and the numerous concrete walkways that have been included in the course design. Plenty of grass, a little loose stuff, a u-shaped sand trap, a few steep pitches, barriers and plenty of hecklers. I brought a team jersey, bike with all the sponsored gear and raced. The only advantage of age might be smaller fields. Mine was small and I still race to mid-pack.
