In 1989 Shimano offered two Deore level groups, Deore XT II and Deore II. Featuring 7-speed SIS thumbshifters and BioPace HP (High Performance) chainrings the Deore II group was found on bikes in the $600 range. At this time a $600 mountain bike would have
been considered a mid to high end bicycle.
In the per-XTR days, Deore XT II was Shimano's top of the line component group. XT II ranks as one of the best groups of all time, (by Bikeman) and we still have a few parts in stock. Currently we have Deore XT Cranks
, Short Cage Rear Derailleurs
, Brake Levers, and a few Front Derailleurs.
