4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 The best sidepull brake caliper I know of., 4.28.2009
Reviewer: Jean Coutu (Québec, Québec)

There may be better sidepulls out there, but there's not many to chose from and reviews are nearly non existant. I'm surprised that I've not found reviews for these specific ones on the internet, so I'm writing one. At work they're the only sidepull calipers I can order through Lambert parts catalog that work, and they're fairly cheap. When clients come in with bikes that don't stop well with sidepulls, can't easely find a fork with canti posts to fit, and new V brake pads arn't enough, then we replace them with one of these up front, sometimes also with a lever made of metal if it's cheap plastic. This makes the brakes really work. Note that they sell these as bmx part, but it'll fit even around a cruiser's tires. So it's a good & cheap upgrade for pretty much any sidepull that sucks. I give these only 4 heads because a cheap set of v's still feels better, but these really work. Another thing, specific for kids bikes usually the lever's reach ajusting screws are out all the way so the kids have trouble actually using them, that makes a big difference. In conclusion, sidepulls don't have to suck and if you have ones that do then you won't regret these. But I would suggest also getting good brake pads like kool stop bmx/mtb salmon to go with them, and all metal brake levers if yours are plastic. This won't break the bank and will make all the difference in the world, you'll be happy with your brakes.
