Watch your head!
You might run into that 1955 Elgin Bluebird hanging from the rafters. Yes, it's true. The boss never throws anything away. It just magically vanishes from the shop and ends up here. If you've given up hope of finding that low gear pawl for a Hercules three speed, drop Davis an email davis@bikeman.com. If we can't find it for you, well, uh, we can't find it for you.

Bikeman's Museum

Do you remember slapping a Fat City bandage over some rock rash or how about hearing a Tioga Disc Drive rolling down the trail. Bikeman still has found memories of the years and parts gone by. In the museum you will find collectibles, components, memorabilia and maybe somethings you totally forgot about. So tighten down those toe straps and come on in.

Catalogs from the Past
1989 Shimano Deore Catalog
One of my personal favorites, the 1989 Shimano Deore XT II / Deore II catalog offers a look back at the latest and greatest technology of the day.  The days of SIS Thumbshifters, BioPace Chainrings, U-Brakes, and Sharkfins may be over but it is fun to take a ride back in time.

In 1989 Shimano offered two Deore level groups, Deore XT II and Deore II.  Featuring 7-speed SIS thumbshifters and BioPace HP (High Performance) chainrings the Deore II group was found on bikes in the $600 range.  At this time a $600 mountain bike would have

been considered a mid to high end bicycle.

In the per-XTR days, Deore XT II was Shimano's top of the line component group.  XT II ranks as one of the best groups of all time, (by Bikeman) and we still have a few parts in stock.  Currently we have Deore XT Cranks, Short Cage Rear Derailleurs, Brake Levers, and a few Front Derailleurs.

Enjoy the read!
