 | | click to enlarge | I've been sick nearly every week since the Holidays. I had a few days in between that I would proclaim how good I felt only to get socked with another illness. I have had multiple head colds, some nasty stomach flu thingy, a sinus infection and some painful chest congestion.
On top of this, I've been trying to do my part of waking up and comforting my baby girl when she decides to start screaming at 3 a.m.. So, all of this adds up to a severe lack of sleep which just perpetuates my illnesses. I could use a week of undisturbed sleep, but that's about as likely as me winning a cross race this fall.
My riding time has suffered because of it all as well. I have been riding straight to work on most days--a whopping 5 miles one way--weeeeee. Yes it serves it's purpose on a very basic commuting level--one less car on the road, but does very little for my jedi race training.
I feel that with the warmer weather, things will take a turn for the better. They have to. It's the running joke around the office that I am the sick one. Comments like "so what is it this week?" and "you look like hell" are getting old. I mean, I try to live a healthy lifestyle. I eat right and obviously exercise, but nothing can stop the constant influx of germs associated with daycare. My little one is a petri dish.
So if you're feeling the same thing, I'm with you. I hope that this cold season ends soon so we can all get back to rolling without having to clear our noses every 50 ft. My jacket is looking pretty nasty from the snot trails--ewww.
