Following FreyeBeach Day!!:

What do you do when the skies are sunny, the temps are in the 90’s and the humidity is seriously pushing 100%? You go to the beach!!! But first you hit up Bradbury for a good time on the mountain bike! Yup that is how today unfolded. I got up nice and early (7am!) packed up the car and headed south to Bradbury.

I got in a nice couple hour hard ride. The trails are in perfect condition, no mud, bone dry. I heard rumors that the park was building some new trails on the mountain side, but I couldn’t find it. Despite not being able to find the new single track I still had a great time bombing around the mountain. I pretty much had the place to myself, probably due to the fact it was starting to push 90 degrees!

After getting in a good hard mountain bike ride I cleaned up with a hose and blasted the air conditioning in the car and continued heading south to Portland. I picked up Hattie and her bike and we ventured further south to Wells and Ogunquit. The two of us found a decent parking spot and the ride to the beach was only 5 or 10 minutes. The skies were blue that the water was nice and clear! It was so nice to be at the beach! It actually was perfect because the beach wasn’t that crowded and the French (Quebec-ians) haven’t taken it over yet. Although the old French men are popping up; we even saw one guy wearing a g-string bathing suit, if you can call that a bathing suit…. Beware the French are coming down! Hattie and I enjoyed a peaceful afternoon splashing our feet in the freezing cold Atlantic and walking around the beach. Afterwards we got on our bikes and cruised around the coast. It was a great day.

To top off the day we had a small BBQ! Yeah that’s right we grilled in 90+ degree heat! Our meal was kind of random, California Sushi, Blue Cheese and Pepper Burgers (the cheese is in the burger, hard to explain but you get them from Hannaford and they are sooo good!!), potato salad, and to top it off a nice cold Sea Dog Beer! Dinner was amazing! I have to say that today was a great summer day! I hope there are a few more of these days to come this summer and many more to come in future years.
