Race Reports

ImageWell as luck would have it, I have had a crazy summer which did not include much racing at all! Instead I chose to have a major purge on a personal level, which did have a few very cool outcomes…

As summer approached this year, I was quazi psyched for racing, but after a few soggy, gnarly races, and a major injury my attention shifted elsewhere. However, I did have two second place finishes, one DNF, and a 180 mile fundraiser where I was able to fly the team colors in one way or another…

The rest of the season consisted of something a little more off the beaten track…I led cycling tours on the coast of Maine for weekend tourists from all over the country for a local company called Summerfeet.net! What a COOL experience! Sure this was not race pace, but boy did I impress many visitors ; ) My Bikeman.com gear and styling Lemond Tourmalet provoked many questions. I got to visit some of the coolest locations in beautiful Maine while riding my bike, getting paid, and talking about Bikeman.com…HOW COOL IS THAT?!?

Sure back in February I had high expectations for myself as the previous season I finished first overall in the Eastern Fat Tire Association series, completed in a 24 hour race, and aimed for cyclo-cross, but as reality had it, I went through a divorce, lost a close family member, quit my job, and was hit by a drunk driver – I thought what the heck, take the season off and try something new…so I did…I found the joy in riding again…I just finished my last bike tour this past weekend, purchased a Trek cruiser bike, and am heading into ski season at Sunday River, ME, USA… LIFE IS GOOD! As I hunker down to a New England winter here in Maine, I am curious as to what next summer holds! As always, watch race reports to see which path I choose! Cheers,

Alyssa
