53 Degrees and NO NAPS!!! E-mail

Following Freye53 Degrees and NO NAPS!!!

So the season is over! Well for this tired individual at least. I finished the season strong with some solid results. Now its time to put the bike aside for a little bit and recharge the batteries in this tired body. Only problem is that since Nationals I haven’t had time to take a nap!!! I am not pleased about this at all. Now that I am not riding I should have lots of extra time right? Wrong!

See I graduate in December and I don’t have a job. Well I started substitute teaching, but that is only temp until I find a real job. I have been spending way too much time calling places, looking online, working on my resume etc…. I just want a job where I can work 30 hours a week and have time to ride and race while still making enough money to live cheaply.

On the note of living like a bum it’s damn cold in my house. There is only one heating zone in the house which kind of stinks. Currently the heat is set below 60 degrees. From July through October we only used 60 gallons of oil. Not too shabby since our hot water is heated by the oil as well and there were some chilly nights in September and October. Somehow I came across this digital thermometer so I put it up in my bedroom to see just how cold it gets at night. Well the past couple of nights it’s been about 53 in my room when I go to bed! If it gets any colder than that I will have to start wearing my Salsa winter hat to bed, not like it would make that much of a difference since it’s on my head all day when I am home. I guess we are saving money and doing some good for the environment by not using up as much oil as other homes.

That’s all, maybe my next post will be about how I scored a kick ass job that allows me to take a nap during the day and turn the heat up to a whopping 62 degrees.
