ImagePlease join our Bikeman.com Friends Team as we ride in the American Lung Association's Trek across Maine on June 13-15, 2008. For the past 23 years, the 180 mile ride from Sunday River to the sea has supported the mission of American Lung Association of Maine (ALAME), MaineLung.org, including their new Healthy Air Campaign.

It is a fully supported ride with plenty of aid stations, great food and friends, and very well organized movement of gear. For some, the Trek has changed their lives, using it as a focus for their efforts to quit smoking, to lose weight, to get into shape or all of the above. Because the event ends each year on Father's Day, many participants dedicate the ride to the memory of their father. For others it has become a family tradition both as an adventure and as a way to demonstrate volunteerism and charity. The funds raised will allow the continued critical work of preventing lung disease, promoting lung health, and fighting for healthy air.

The Trek is a 180 mile tour, not a race, so all experience levels are welcome! We're raising money by cycling across the state of Maine in three days. Bring the kids, the in-laws, the grandparents, and your neighbors. It may be one of the best experiences you'll ever have with friends. The more, the merrier, and the more money we'll raise for a great cause. This is the first year for a Bikeman.com team. Join before February 2008 and you can get a great looking Bikeman.com cycling jersey at cost. As a Bikeman.com Friend's Team member you will also be eligible to receive a 10% discount on all products on Bikeman.com leading up to the event so you are properly outfitted for your preperation and the ride.

If you can't ride with us, please consider making a tax deductible contribution. Any amount you decide to donate will be much appreciated. You can read about Alyssa Gagnon's experience as one of last year’s Trekkers. For more information on joining the 2008 Trek Across Maine Bikeman.com Friends Team feel free to contact Bill Turner.
