In addition to the CX race there was a trail run, kayak race, BMX and skateboard exhibition, road criterium, live music and food.

The course was very cool and had some unusual features like a parking garage and amphitheater to maneuver through. There were also plenty of tight turns in the grassy areas and some fast paved sections. The B’s all ran together at 6pm in a group of about 30 riders. The front guys went off fast and I settled in at about 15th place with Troy Nye right behind me. I moved up a few spots over the first few laps as things sorted out. I felt good throughout the race and gained a few more spots to finish somewhere around 12th and Troy ended up about 20th. The evening was topped off by dinner at a local brewpub with my family and a train ride back to SLC. Good times.

I have included a link to some video of the race that shows Troy piling it up right before the barriers.

Thanks for reading.

Dave
