| | Art DeGraw: Semi-Pro Mountain Bike
2008 RACING AGE: 28
RESIDENCE: Watervliet, NY
WHERE I GO MONDAY MORNING: SUNY Albany
RACING DISCIPLINE(S) AND CATEGORY(S): Semi-Pro MTB, Cat 4 Road
# OF YEARS RACING: Quite a few.
# OF BIKES OWNED: 6 (everything from dirt jumper to road bike)
FAVORITE BIKE: This depends on the reason for riding. In general my hand polished Serotta Legend Ti, a beautiful specimen.
FAVORITE TRAIL OR RIDE: Any road that turns uphill or a rhythmic flowing single-track. If I had to be specific: The Blue Ridge Parkway near Blacksburg, VA or the fast and fun trails of Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury, NY.
NON-CYCLING INTERESTS/HOBBIES: Multi-sport races, running, Mathematics.
PERSONAL NOTES & QUOTES: 2007 was full of firsts. Trying some different sports to spice things up (triathlon, duathlon, half marathon) kept the 2007 season fun and cycling legs fresh. This year was my first time at a MTB National Championships, even though I was sick it was fun riding with the team. Having great teammates on Bikeman.com was always a motivating factor at races in 2007, be it cheering each other on, suffering together, or just meeting new people.
Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. ~T.S. Eliot
