The instructions are clear and easy to follow for installation.(I hadn't wrenched on a bike in better than 20yrs.)I was able to install it myself.  I have been using it since the 2nd week of June,it has not failed me yet as far as hauling anything that I have needed to haul-- groceries,my kayak,trash to the dump.  It handles almost as well loaded as it does empty. It seems to be very well designed.  If you are considering getting one,do it, you won't regret it.As far as I know everyone that has one loves it,the only thing better would be a Surly Big Dummy (for much more money though)
