Sucker Brook Cyclo-Cross September 20, 2009 Auburn, NH
What a great day for a race! Temperatures were in the low 60's for a 10:00 am start time. Not a cloud in the sky with brilliant sun. This is a great venue and it's obvious that it is catching on by the number of racers. The course was pretty much the same from past years. Who doesn't like a good sand trap to show ones strength or lack of. This was my first major cross race in a year. It felt good to get back in race mode (to bad I wasn't in race shape!). The 10:00 am race consisted of CAT 3/4 masters 35+. I saw myself as pack fill. My objective is mostly to see where I am mentally and physically for this race season. I finished the race with a good and not so good note. Didn't come in as high in the ranking as I would have liked but I did finish 4 spots higher then last year. I rode the sand trap every time...a first for me on this course. Was it the Salsa or the Fangos... or a combination of both? Looking forward to slowly inching my way up the standings.
