SoCal Cross Prestige Series #7
Spooky Cross
Irvine, CA

October 24th, 2009

ImageSaturday October 24, 2009. Southern California Prestige Series of Cyclocross presents: Spooky Cross, in Irvine, CA. An afternoon of racing, highlighted by the costume relay race with a smashing pumpkins hurdles section and the 1,2,3 race that featured numerous cycling champions. The race attendance was record breaking. The course offered up a stair section, two short steep pitches, barriers, a long sand patch and some undulating tree covered area as well as open field traverse. My first race, the single speed, should of been routine, however, I believe the judges forgot their timepieces as I completed five laps. I switched bike and forgot to remove my number for the Master 55+ event. So this timed event is 10 minutes longer than the first, yet I completed five laps. I finished, rode clean and started to enjoy the festivities.
