ImageWell, it looks as though Carl and I have fallen a week behind in bike racin updates.  We'll chalk it up to being lost somewhere between Utah and Colorado, possibly in Arizona, and the legendary BUY BUY BUY!!! laptop being broken in addition to my other laptop and digital camera...  At any rate, we had a good time down there, wherever that actually was... I went to a bike race in Park City, Utah a while ago (July 8th). It was fun. I raced real good in the XC, finishing in 4th place aboard my shiny new 2007 Anthem Advanced. In the short track I took it upon myself to make sure Carl's singlespeed was ready to race at Nationals the next weekend, turns out it was almost all set. If only it had gears I might have pedalled my way onto the podium instead of coasting my way into 6th place. I sure had a good time at 160rpm though... I had a good time doing at least two hours of beautiful singletracking after each race too. Had to get in shape for nationals, you know?

A couple weeks ago I went to Whistler for the Crankworx (mostly) Gravity Festival. I had to after using it as leverage to get myself a Downhill bike (Glory) so I could race the Garbanzo Enduro DH there. Turns out there was a Canada Cup XC race and Super D for me to do in addition to DH runs, epic rides and kayaking... Canada cup was on an amazingly entertaining course and was at least one million degrees. I got hot and slow. 8th place... Super D kept the theme of awesome terrain going, flowing singletrack, techy sections, short climbs and a good chunk of downhill race course kept things diverse. Unfortunately, Brian Lopes thought there was too much climbing (less than two out of eleven minutes) and refused to race after the promoters refused to change the course to his liking. I was bummed, as it would have been a good challenge and lots of people were interested to see the outcome. At least I got to hit a good sized drop at the finish (GLC) wearing the captain america skinsuit before claiming victory. After trying to figure out how to ride the Glory all week and developing a deep respect for the skills of proper downhillers, I was (kind of) ready to race the fifteen minute Garbanzo DH on Sunday. Then I ate it, HARD practicing sunday morning and bruised some ribs pretty good. No racey. Sore drive home though...

Thanks for reading, sorry to have been off the back.

Cheers,

Adam and Carl's "we don't need no stinking maps" Giant Fun Team
