This was a strange year for the Maine TT series. In past years, there have been 10-13 races but with it's collapse last year, there were only 3 races this year. Because of other obligations, this was my only TT race of the year!!!
The race started in front of Roller World in Topsham and headed north on Rt. 201. The course was 20 miles long and had a really nice breakdown lane.
The weather was nearly perfect with the temps in the low 70's and almost no wind.
I was slotted to take off 4th from last and as I am on the line I hear "5 4 3 2 1 Go!!" I was off the line, buried my head and went as hard as I could. Not so hard that I wouldn't make the 20 mile race. Great to catch up with old rivals. The race results weren't where I wanted them to be and I ended up 7th in my age group. Looking forward to next year. Keeping in mind my favorite quote (below).
